Wise Men Still Seek Him…

Wise Men Still Seek Him…. I have always loved the imagery of the three Wise Men following the star to find the newborn King. Using Stampin’ Up! materials, this card is my own creation which contains elements of Orthodox Christian Faith. On the outside of the card, each Wise Man is clothed in priestly colors used in the Orthodox Church for various feast days celebrated in the church. The first Wise Man to the left is clothed in purple representing the Passion of our Lord. The middle Wise Man is clothed in Green representing our Hope in the Lord and the action of the Holy Spirit for the salvation of mankind. The Wise Man on the right is clothed in dark red symbolizing the blood of the Lord. The inside on the top flap contains the Christmas greeting and allows space to write a personal message. The manger scene on the inside of the card shows the Angels delivering the message to mankind of Christ’s Birth. The Virgin Mary (Mother of God) is clothed in light blue, which is the color used for the Mother of God in iconography of the Orthodox Christian Faith.

This Christmas card is unique in that the inside of the card has raised elements rather than fixed or popup elements providing the look and feel of dimensionality and the Lord’s presence in and among the people for the salvation of mankind.

A darling truck loaded with Christmas presents headed toward Christmas celebrations while the vision of Santa in his sleigh pulled by reindeer fly overhead. Truth be known, I got into card-making because of the Santa, sleigh and flying reindeer stamp in the October 2022 Paper Pumpkin Kit entitled Ho Ho Ho. The moment I saw the stamp, I wanted it so much, I decided to pursue this delightful hobby of card-making right then and there! Lol!

I adopted the 3D card layout after a similar design created by Lynn Dunn @stamptasticdesigns.com called New Horizons 3D Pop Up Cards.

The card is a piece of white cardstock cut at 4-1/4″ x 11″ and scored at 5.5″ to create a top-down folded design.

Stampin’ Up! materials used to create this card are:

Stampin’ Up! Trucking Along #162299 for the truck

Stampin’ Up! Santa’s Delivery #159583 for the sentiment
